C2級Wind of Change Russia /Viktor Yazykov /俄羅斯，橫越大西洋於出發前2天才到港，通訊、引擎檢修中，預定延後3天出航。
C2級Winds of Change Russia /Viktor Yazykov /俄羅斯，1998/11/16手肘(Elbow)受傷自行處理網路協助。

Hall；用臨時帆索具(Under Jury Rig)航行。
C1級Somewhere /Marc Thiercelin/法國FRA / 1999/2/25失桅(Dismasted)，自行航行到福克蘭群島。
C1級PRB /Isabelle Autissier 法國女將1999/2/15 UTC 14:23時約於南緯55度、西經127度，即開普頓西方約1,900海浬處翻覆，啟動EPIRB及GPIRB，當時風力35-45節、有25呎高的巨浪，1999/2/16被意大利C1級FILA
/Giovanni Soldini在黑暗中救起，1999/3/3一起到港。

1999/4/11 UTC 16:00 (當地13:00) C2級Balance Bar 船長Brad Van Liew，Dismasted失桅。
美國年輕船長Brad Van Liew，離Uruguayan海岸約90海浬，突然遇到捲浪失桅(Sudden squall
had Dismasted)，桅桿由甲板上6-10呎處斷為2-3段，帆桁(Boom)也斷為2段，於1999/4/13
UTC 03:45(當地12:45am)用臨時帆索具(Jury Rig)自行返回，如要修理可於12-13天後再行出航比賽他感到非常的失望等…Fallen,
Disappointed, Sad and defeated, Angry…..All of the above。
C2級領先船Cray Valley船長Jean-Pierre Moulign，會於UTC 20:00趕到現場援救。

of Charleston)，Mr. Alex Sanders授發，授與榮譽博士學位(Honorary Doctorate
Degree)給FILA船長Dr. Giovanni Soldini，因於航段3，1999/2/16救援Isabelle
Autissier /PRB，FILA船長Dr. Giovanni Soldini也是本比賽排名第一名，with an
Honorary Doctorate in Humanities,『The best Italian sailor
in history, with possibly the exception of Christopher Columbus』。 |
